Watch calligrapher Kerry Richardson create hauntingly beautiful illuminated manuscripts inspired by Saxon and Celtic knotwork.
THE STAFFORDSHIRE HOARD:

A stunning selection of around 80 artefacts from the largest hoard of Anglo-Saxon gold ever found,
including significant items never before seen in public. This is the first time that the hoard will be displayed in the county in which it was found. The Staffordshire Hoard will redefine the Dark Ages. Now see it for yourself. Only on display until 7 March!

Logo Competition

We asked subscribers to enter a competition to design a logo for the Pen People Supplement section of the magazine. The logos submitted can be viewed in the Logo Gallery and the winner of the competition was Lawrence Cremore, who wins the prize of a selection of calligraphy papers from the Tony Costello Award. We selected this particular logo because it illustrates the main tool of the calligrapher i.e. the pen nib. We were delighted of the response and would like to thank everyone who took part with these super entries. |
